Upload engine General FAQ - revision 2.0 -
- Who could upload a picture on this website?
Everybody! Our community is as wide and open as the Internet could be. Keep in mind that you have to be at least 16 years old to post anything –forum entries, photos, …- here. Don’t put yourself in trouble by cheating.
- Do I need an account? If Yes, is it free?
Yes and Yes. You absolutely need an account to upload a picture here. You can setup your personal account here. It is absolutely free to do so, and there is no other/hidden fee. Do not forget that you have to be at least 16 years old to do so.
- How many photos can I post? Is there a quota?
No! We want our community as wide as possible, and we will not complain having active contributors. That said, do not try to cheat on us. Every single picture is screened before acceptation. One should always favor the quality instead of the quantity. Keep that in mind: our community will be as good as you want it to be!
- Can I use this website as a virtual hard drive?
No. The main focus of the site is to share the beauty of the USA, not to store as many photos as you can have. We ask you to review carefully every single picture before upload. One more time, quality is better than quantity.
- Can I use this website as a backup for my pictures?
Definitively not. We do not guaranteed anything, should a disaster occurs. You have the responsibility to save and backup your own files on your personal computer. By no way we held any kind of responsibility with the files uploaded there.
- Do I have to be the author of the photo?
Yes. You absolutely have to be the photographer. In fact, you have to be the copyright owner of every single files uploaded there.
- What kind of files could I upload?
Digital photos only, meaning JPEG/JPG
- Is there a size limit?
Yes, the file size has to be 2MB, maximum.
- What about file resolution?
Your photos have to be at least 1024*768. Please also refer to the size limit.
- Should I respect a pattern regarding the name of my files?
While our engine will handle and rename your file, please stay on the A-Z, 0-9 pattern and avoid spaces. Please also avoid any special characters and accents.
- Is it possible to upload more than one file at once?
Yes. This feature was introduced with our brand new upload engine. You can upload up to 3 photos one shot! Even better, you can duplicate location, comments, tags -well, basically all fields- between the uploaded pictures.
Remember that quality is better than quantity. There are quite a few forms to be filled up, so we think it’s better to take some time. And we editors follow the same rule!
